Agile Radiant™ Controlled Light 5

This model is suitable for a wide variety of color selection, color matching and QC checking applications. These include graphic arts, security printing, fabrics, home furnishings, paper testing, paints, plastics, cosmetics, etc.

The enclosed viewing area shields out unwanted external light, while the neutral grey panels provide the ideal background for assessing color. Agile Radiant Color Viewing Cabinet, Model CVC5-2E is fitted with electronic ballasts for the fluorescent tubes, ensuring cool running and instant starting.

The Controlled Light 5, Model CVC5-2E is fitted with five light sources:

Artificial Daylight D65 - This 6,500K fluorescent daylight source is the accepted European and international standard for critical color matching. It is also known as Northlight 55.

Artificial Daylight D50 - An alternative standard to D65, this 5,000K fluorescent daylight source is used for some graphic arts applications, especially when viewing a four color process printed sample for comparison with a color transparency, back illuminated with a 5,000k light source for color correction.

Store Light TL84 - Nominally 4,100K, this type of tube is used in many modern store applications, because of the light efficiency. Appearance under this lighting is therefore very important in clothing, home furnishing, packaging and labeling applications. Being made up from red, green and blue phosphors, the spectral output is very spiky, and colors viewed under TL84 can exhibit significant metamerism - so it is an important check.

Tungsten Home Light - Simulates normal home lighting conditions at an approximate color temperature of 2.700K. The higher red content of the light can also result in metamerism.

UV Black Light - This source allows the presence of UV fluorescent materials to be detected.  Applications include checking papers which include a fluorescent whitener, or in security printing where UV fluorescent inks may be used.
